What about video games, do they improve my brain health?
We typically say that good brain exercises require novelty, variety and challenge. So if video games are new to you and provide you with a variety of challenges, then they may be beneficial to you in the short term. Once you have mastered them (they are no longer a novelty or a challenge) then no, they will no longer be beneficial. But you don’t need expensive gadgets to improve your brain health, paper and pencil activities can be just as challenging!
