The Family Education Series is a comprehensive training program designed specifically to meet the caregiving needs of the family caregiver.

Network with other caregivers in a compassionate, supportive environment as you learn more about Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. These workshops, based on a person-centred philosophy of care, support friends and family members by providing information about dementia, practical strategies for caregiving and planning for the future.

Pre-registration is required for all training programs.
Group size may be limited.

Empowered Care: Learning Through Information, Stories and Strategies

Building the capacity of family care partners to support persons living with dementia while taking care of themselves through learning about dementia, sharing stories of resilience and offering strategies for providing care.

Cost: $50.00

  • Monday, April 16, 23, 30              6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Empowered Care Online   

Information, Stories and Strategies are delivered through:

  • Online Modules
  • A workbook complete with reflection questions
  • An online forum where participants can interact and share experiences

Cost: $50.00

Considering Long Term Care

This four-hour workshop for family caregivers provides information on long-term care placement – making the decision, understanding the process, and adjusting to the
change.

  • Wednesday, April 4            1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Cost: $25.00  (includes materials)

Dementia: Developing a Positive Perspective

This is a four week class for persons living with early stage dementia and a family member or caregiver.
