Alzheimer's disease is a complex disease that affects the brain. Approximately 11,000 individuals in Calgary and surrounding area have Alzheimer's disease or other dementias. Although a cure has not yet been found, research continues to increase our understanding, which leads to more accurate diagnoses and more effective treatments.
